Paralysis - the sudden inability to move a part of the body -requires urgent treatment. The sooner your pet receives care, the better the prognosis for recovery.
Calm your pet. If necessary, cover with a blanket.
Muzzle your pet if there is any danger of being bitten. Depending on the type of problem, it could be an extremely painful injury or causing minimal discomfort.
Transport your pet carefully (refer to transport techniques listed here).
Do not assume that your pet won't bite you! When in extreme pain, all pets are capable of biting.
Do not encourage your pet to move around.
Do not medicate your pet without instructions from your veterinarian.
